Vicarious Vicar is more than just a blog; it’s a community dedicated to fostering conversation around faith, social justice, and service. Our content is crafted from the founder’s personal experiences, aiming to inspire readers to take action in their own communities.
Born out of a desire to amplify voices for justice, Vicarious Vicar was established by a retired Episcopal Priest in New Orleans. The blog serves as a platform for sharing insights and sparking dialogue.
We serve individuals, community organizations, and faith-based groups who are passionate about social justice and seeking spiritual guidance. Our readers come from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to making a difference.
A little bit about my life:
1) I am a Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War era. I served in the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard and with the Amphibious Seabees in the Inshore Warfare Group.
2) After my service I attended and graduated from Tulane University.
3) After college I worked for major insurance underwriters specializing in marine insurance.
4) I married in 1983.
5) I am a recovering alcoholic (so I know a bit about addiction).
6) I am father to three children and two grandchildren.
